Tom has owned and operated Zancanella and Associates, Inc., since 1993. He has been practicing civil and water resource engineering in Colorado for 38 years. He presently serves as President of Zancanella and Associates, project manager and senior principal engineer.
Tom’s expertise lies in the areas of hydrology, hydraulics, water rights and permitting, water supply and delivery, dam evaluation and design, water quality, potable water distribution, wastewater collection, water reuse and reclamation, and groundwater. He has a special interest in geothermal and hydroelectric applications. His experience in civil design and water operation resources provides a unique approach to the development of these facilities.
Tom is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado and earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO. He is registered by the Colorado Operators Certification Board with Water Operator Class B, Wastewater Operator Class B, Water Distribution Class 1 and Wastewater Collection Class 2 certifications.
Tom is a third generation Glenwood Springs native and lives in Glenwood Springs with his wife Michelle. When not in the office, he can usually be found enjoying grandchildren on his farm or on the Flattops enjoying all Colorado has to offer by means of ATVs in the summer and snowmobiles or snowcats in the winter. Tom is very involved in the Flattoppers Snowmobile Club, where he has served as president, and is usually up for a soak in the Hot Springs Pool.
